A New Book Idea & Beach Update

I was awakened last night at about 4 AM by what seemed like a dream but was my  muse waking me up with a new kid’s story idea. It wouldn’t let me go back to sleep. My muse has a wicked sense of humor and often opens the floodgates of story ideas at the most inconvenient times. It will not take “No” for an answer and doesn’t tolerate being ignored. My muse can be an awful nag.

I got up and started writing. The first draft is now mostly written. I’d planned to take a break from writing for one to three months after the cluster of releases I’m wrapping up, but my muse had other ideas. Oh well, hopefully in four to six weeks I’ll be announcing the release of another kid’s book, the working title of which is The “I Want More” War. It’s about two siblings who inherit a country and due to their greed and jealousy bring their lands and themselves to ruin. It will have a happy ending for the people of the country because a third sibling wisely chooses a different path.

The illustrations are nearly done for The Beach that Love Built. The next step will be interior layout and cover design. I give all my books a one-word nickname to make it faster and easier to identify when discussing with the publishing pros who work with me on them. The nickname for The Beach that Love Built is Beach and I plan to release it by the end of this month.

With Love,
