Grumpadinkle News

One day many months ago when I held one of my wonderful grand twins (who was acting quite cranky at the time) the initial idea of a grumbly cranky character popped into my head. It’s name became Grumbly Grumpadinkle. I actually began to develop two iterations of same, one of each gender. I set the characters aside for a long time because other characters and story ideas captured my attention and no story that satisfied me for GG had bubbled up.

This afternoon the creative juices once again began flowing relating to GG. I don’t know where they’ll take me but I’m buckled in and the ride has once again begun.

It now looks like Grumbly will be a male, and the female version of Grumbly will become his wife, Gruffina. The Grumpadinkles are both crabby, cynical, selfish, and generally just not very nice people.

The male version of GG (illustrated above) is getting a substantial make-over as the version you see inadvertently looks too much like the Grinch. While I love the Grinch, he belongs to Dr. Seuss, so I want my GG to look quite different. I plan to share Grumbly’s new look when it is further developed.

I also plan to soon feature more about this new story and these grouchy characters in future posts.

With Love,
