Concept Sketches of Kriga and Friends

Here are the first two concept sketches of Kriga, and Kriga with friends, for my latest children’s story titled “Something REALLY, REALLY BIG!”. Based on positive feedback I’ve gotten about the initial rough outline of this story, I may move this story up in the publishing order so that it becomes my next book after “Duck”.

The reason there are two initial concept sketches is that Josh suggested we get the image of Kriga dialed in before he added the other animal friends. That would save him from doing extra re-work in case it took multiple revisions before Kriga was blessed.

As it turns out, he came up with 4 ideas about how Kriga might look on the same page, and I selected parts from 2 of them, so he was able to add the friends without several revisions. Earlier today, I OK’d the concept sketch of Kriga with friends to be turned into a full-color illustration.

He looks enthusiastic and happy with his friends in the woods. I’d love to listen to him!
